Approach to Turner's Gap |
The 1st Union Corps lead by the 1st Division begin the advance to Turner's Gap. The 1st Division is spread across the front. The heavy woods channel the attack lanes. All funnel toward the gap. We see several regiments holding the gap. Third division arrives on are right. General Hooker (1st Corps commander) decides to make a two pronged attack hoping to collapse one flank or the other.

We see several regiments holding the gap. Third division arrives on are right. General Hooker (1st Corps commander) decides to make a two pronged attack hoping to collapse one flank or the other. The left advance will follow along the woods.
The Union Right Flank |
The third division advanced on the right. The Sharpshooters lead the way. The limited artillery traveled with the 3rd division. Three confederate regiments hold the left flank along with one artillery battery.
The Attack on Confederate Left Flank |
The third tries to make a frontal assault with on brigade unfortunately do it piecemeal and are cut to pieces. The other two brigades wing right to try to flank the position. The sharpshooters and cannon take deadly aim from a ridge firing on the ocnfederates holding the stonewall. The Union line follows up and shoots with some effect. The Union regiments try to pin the confederates. The Confederates fall back before being outflanked.
